My history:

I purchased my first tank for my 3 year old son, as a form of entertainment. The one gallon setup with UGF had 3 inhabitants: Zebra Danios. Back then I was ignorant to the whole fish keeping hobby.(Oct 1998) Doing occasional water changes and feedings, these fish remained healthy and active for 2 years!

That's when it really started: it was time for an upgrade.(Nov 2000)
Still ignorant to the whole fish keeping business, I went to Pet Smart and purchased a 10Gallon starter set. Filling the tank with water and letting it run for a day or so, I noticed that the incandescent lights are not the way to go. Looking for solutions on the web, I noticed that this is a big and very serious hobby, I found out that this setup would not be worth my while. I contacted a "real" tropical fish store and hooked up with a 29G tank. 2 years after that I ended up with a 75 Gallon planted tank. That's where I am today.(Jan 2003)

Over the past years, I believe to have learned a lot about fish keeping, yet still have a long way to go. I spend every free moment reading, researching, watching, shopping etc....

With this site I like to share my personal experiences, with the world. I tend to look for solutions that are easy on the wallet.
